John Pollard
Songwriter, lead vocalist, & acoustic guitarist for The Cole Younger Band
SOLO

John Pollard, a Delaware native, is a locally acclaimed singer/songwriter. In the early 1980s, he formed The Cole Younger Band, taking the name of the legendary outlaw for the group. Along with other original music he's written over the years, he's created several songs about the Younger and James Brothers' exploits in the old west.

John has just released a new CD, "Nothing Personal" featuring 12 new John Pollard originals. Another CD, well underway, will feature a large cast of musicians performing previously unrecorded Cole Younger Band music (including the crowd favorite "Should the Heavens Fall) as well as re-makes of some of the CYB favorites.

John has previously released solo CD's "Winds of Time" and "My Bethany". These albums reflect John's personal life experiences as well as his love of the beach. In September of 2006, John was invited to perform the title track on his second solo CD, "My Bethany", for the dedication ceremony of the new Bethany Beach Bandstand, where his music was enthusiastically received.

John performs most often at the Wellwood Yacht Club and Blackstones Pub. Listen for his music on WDUV and WSTW's Hometown Heroes.
